Just Getting Started
But it took a minute to get here
About Me
Born and raised in the rugged beauty of El Paso, Texas, I spent my childhood ruling the desert with my siblings, building stick forts, and riding motorcycles. At 13, my stepdad handed me a guitar, and I fell in love with music, covering legends like Joan Baez and Johnny Cash. It wasn’t long before I started writing my own songs, though my crippling stage fright kept my music private.
I headed to the University of North Texas hoping to sharpen my craft and overcome my fear, but life had other plans. I graduated with a business degree, still singing and playing guitar within the safe confines of my living room.
In the late 1980s, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I built a career, got married, and raised my daughter. As she grew older, I rediscovered the passion that had been quietly simmering for years. At 50, I turned up the heat, releasing my debut EP, Desert Flowers, at the iconic Saxon Pub. That project was my love letter to my El Paso roots. Shortly after, I formed The Humdingers, performing at Austin landmarks like Ginny’s Little Longhorn Saloon and the Broken Spoke.
In 2020, I moved to Wimberley, TX, where I formed The Hill Country Honeys. In 2024, we were honored as the community’s “Best Local Band.” Over the past decade, I’ve led three bands, performed countless shows, and written more than 40 original songs.
From desert blooms to hill country skies, my music is rooted in life’s raw beauty and resilience. And I’m just getting started.
